Yesterday a parent shared with Mrs. Person an interesting article about summer reading (from Scholastic's Instructor Magazine). I'd like to share it with you.
Did you know that if you read 4 or more books this summer, you can stay geared up for 6th grade!
FOUR books....that's it! Studies show that kids who do not read over the summer have to have to work harder at the beginning of the new school year.
Here's my challenge to you: Read at least four books.
Why: So when you start 6th grade, you'll be ramped up and ready to go! You'll feel great about yourselves because you took the time to be responsible for your learning. I know that your new teachers will be very impressed!
